Brenna J.Y. Scholey is a Principal Metallurgist with over 36 years of senior management, operations, and technical experience in the mining industry, including 12 years as a consultant. Her experience includes base metals milling, smelting, and refining, precious metals processing, industrial minerals, research and development, project evaluations, flowsheet design and optimization, metals accounting, and production planning. She has operational experience in pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical processing, metal by-product recovery, and impurity removal. Brenna also has expertise in metals separation technologies, metals recycling, and the international trade of ores, concentrates, and intermediate products, including evaluation of the economics and operational aspects of processing.
She is responsible for carrying out due diligence reviews, project assessments, and research and development program reviews for global clients, including preparing and auditing NI 43-101 Technical Reports (and equivalent international reports) for exploration and mining projects. Her technical and risk assessments of mining projects assist a variety of clients (mining companies, financial institutions, and lenders) with decision-making.
Brenna also provides technical assistance as a metallurgical engineering consultant and as a global disputes coordinator on a wide variety of matters and complex disputes in international mining arbitration and litigation. Her work experience includes matters in the Americas, Africa, Central Asia, and Asia. She has been recognized as a consulting expert in Lexology Index (formerly Who's Who Legal): Mining 2019 to 2025 and is registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario and British Columbia, Canada.
