Duro-Yokota is a small business located in Sheffield, UK with some major clients across the construction industry. With the ever increasing focus on sustainable procurement and responsible sourcing Duro-Yokota were being bombarded with sustainability questionnaires, both numerous in size and in scope. Completing these were causing serious resource constraints for the team.
Solution
SLR supported Duro-Yokota by helping them collate all of their relevant policies, procedures, and other documentation before conducting a gap analysis on what was available. This identified some quick win areas that Duro-Yokota could focus on to improve, as well as some longer term goals that would drive their sustainability even further. Once Duro-Yokota were in a suitable position, SLR supported them with their EcoVadis application, helping them to maximise their score.
Impact
When reviewing available options to streamline their reporting approach, Duro-Yokota identified EcoVadis as an option and believed they would achieve the “Fast Mover” badge. With the support and guidance of the SLR team they achieved a Silver medal, ranking in the 91st percentile of applicants - a result that the Duro-Yokota team is thrilled with.
